Profile and History

SMC Construction, established in 1990, has completed 80 Southern California projects in the last 18 years. Originally serving the multi-unit residential market, we have since expanded to civic, education, commercial, public works, industrial, and healthcare projects. We excel on projects with construction costs ranging from $1 million to $35 million.

Founder Al Chegini’s intention was to constructively use his leadership to create a professional firm that would better serve the Southern California building market. He and his project managers have built a reputation for honesty, fair pricing, and a commitment to quality. Mr. Chegini holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and has provided his project management expertise since 1980.

Pulling from our staff of professionals, SMC matches each project with team members whose experience best meets the requirements of the project. We have developed solid relationships with the region’s best subcontractors to bring optimal performance and efficiency to each project.
